What is CBSA?
The California Bean Shippers Association is an organization of members committed to
the continuation of a strong state, national and
international dry bean industry. The key
objective of CBSA is to provide a
worthwhile and meaningful forum in order for members
to further develop the
California dry bean industry. CBSA derives its strength from its
members.
Their knowledge, dedication, and ideas are what has developed the respect
established in the industry.
Who is CBSA?
CBSA members are dealers, warehouses, and exporters
within the State of California.
Associate members are companies that are
in affiliated industries such as suppliers,
carriers, packagers, and canners or
bean dealers or warehouses located outside of
California.
What does CBSA do?

GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS
CBSA's registered lobbyists play a key role in influencing decision making in California
on behalf of
the industry.

INFORMATION
CBSA disseminates up-to-date information and trade leads via email. CBSA
also
publishes an annual
membership directory.

MEETINGS
CBSA hosts membership meetings at places of interest to members such
as
warehouses, ports, manufacturing plants and other facilities. CBSA provides a delegate
to serve on the U.S. Dry
Bean Convention Planning Committee, and encourages members
to attend this
important annual
meeting of industry.

PERSONAL ASSISTANCE
CBSA can assist members on any industry related matter. If we don't know
the answers,
chances are
we know how to find them.

ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY AND CONSULTING
CBSA members have access to an Environmental and Safety Specialist whose technical
expertise can
assist in environmental and safety compliance. Seminars and workshops on
a
variety of environmental
and safety topics are also offered.

ALLIANCE WITH OTHER TRADE ORGANIZATIONS
CBSA maintains working relationships with:
The United States
Dry Bean Council (USDBC) whose focus is to increase export markets and to advocate
generic domestic promotion of dry beans to the consumers. CBSA provides
a delegate and
alternate to serve on the USDBC.
The
California Dry Bean Advisory Board, a
marketing order which provides funding for both research and
promotion of California-produced dry beans. CBSA provides warehouse members, 5
dealer members and alternate to serve on the Board.
The
American Dry Bean Board, who serves
as a bean information resource for American consumers,
and works to promote increased consumption of bean products through public relations
programs, advertising, and research. |
